Christmas is supposed to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Not a fictional chubby man, toys, gluttony, or love. Atheists have turned Christmas into a holiday for gluttons. Orthodox Christians fast from meat, dairy, eggs, wine, oil, and seafood for 40 days before the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, and before Pascha (his resurrection). People turned a holy day into a day about romance, food, drink, and presents. Also, there is a liturgy at midnight on Christmas Eve where everyone holds candles for two hours, or at Pascha four hours, and on Pascha there is a sort of parade around the church with the candles and all. We stand nearly the whole service. Christmas is suppose to mortify the flesh, not give in to fleshly desires. Orthodox Christianity is the oldest form of Christianity ever, and when the Catholics and Orthodox split, more and more types of Christianity split off.
