    • All the Alison songs sound alike to me. Like the Moore tracks.

I've seen AKUS in concernt a number of times in the past. Love her and the music she did in the past. I was so looking forward to the release of this entire CD. Boy, was I disappointed. To me, all the tracks with Alison as lead sound all alike. Slow, no toe-tapping music, nothing I would sing along with myself. No doubt the perfomances are excellent with all the great musicians, but I just don't like the tracks. The exception are the tracks with Russell Moore singing lead. I like those tracks. I had high hopes for this CD and I'm underwhelmed.

When one enters Heaven, Allison and Union Station playing in the background is what you will hear and on certain occasions … Vince Gill 😇

Alison Krauss’ voice is as clear and angelic as ever. Harmonies are tight among these very talented and truly professional musicians. Russell Moore is the perfect addition; what a voice!! Yes, we all miss Dan Tyminski, but are delighted he is having a successful career with his band. Bluegrass is back!!

Another masterpiece by these brilliant musicians. And the purity of Alison’s voice… just wow. I’ve been a fan since I first heard her voice on Crook & Chase in the early 90s. Cannot wait to see them again on the Arcadia tour. The musicianship - chefs kiss!

I received my advance copy on vinyl today in the mail, and I absolutely love this album! It really fills a void in the musical landscape right now. It is also a worthy award for making us wait so long since the last AKUS album. I like how it's a lot like the previous AKUS albums but new and fresh nonetheless. It has plenty of bluegrassy-ness to love with that signature AKUS edge. I was glad to read in the liner notes that Dan Tyminski is still playing on the record (as is Adam Steffey, who was part of AKUS prior to Dan). That said, Russell Moore never sounded better and has assimilated into AKUS very well. But it all comes down to the songs, doesn't it? I mean, at this point it's well known that you just can't beat the musicianship of AKUS. The instruments, the vocals. They are always spot-on. So, it comes down to whether the songs themselves are any good—the songwriting. And to that, I'd say I love this set of lyrics, the ups and downs of the songs. You can't tell if they were written yesterday or a hundred years ago. And I love that. These folks are real musicians.

The professionals are back! First 2 songs that have been released are amazing. Love them both. Yes, I miss Mr. Tyminski, but I am glad for him to have his own band right now. I’m enjoying Mr. Russell Moore’s voice. He’s not a Tyminski copycat- how could he be, this is his own natural voice but there is a great familiarity of sound in voice to Tyminski, and I love it. He does a great job on his lead song. It is a great song. Alison sounds like perfect crystal clear glass with no blemishes or dust on it- just beautiful!! Love Mr. Banjo- Ron Block, and he is the string that ties all the songs together along with Mr. Bass- Barry Bales. Jerry Douglas- what can you say about him? Number one dobro master. I love hearing his playing and I listen for the dobro in each song at all times. First 2 songs are exactly what I wanted to hear from the band on a new album. This is my opinion, and it’s my opinion still.
