nice job of mixing up the lead vocals. For a band to be performing at this level after fifty years I have to give 5Stars. The songs are good and get better with each listen. Keep Rockin' guys. TB Wonder

For me, Michael McDonald was the sound of the Doobies. His voice was so rich and smooth. I hate to say it, but he sounds terrible on this album. His voice sounds strained and scratchy. At times I wasn’t even sure if it was him singing. Looks like I’ll stick with their older music.
    • Michael McDonald is NOT a Doobie Brother

I guess I was waiting for at least something that resembled the REAL sound of the Doobies and not another collaboration with guests. Those who comment that M.M. is a “real Doobie Brother” must not have heard them before he filled in for Tom Johnston while he recuperated. I know tragedy has affected the make-up of the band thru the decades but the M.M years were not their best. “Disciple”- best song hands down!
    • Finally, a full force Doobie Album

The three major songwriters and singers join together for the first time since 1975 for the Doobie's best album in decades. McDonald and Simmons put forth magnificent songs. They put a spark in Johnston who comes up with three great songs and strong vocals. This is finally a band again. Acknowledging the past and exceeding it.

I Love this new album. I listened to it 2-3 times in a row and liked it better each time. My favorite song is New Orleans. Vintage Tom Johnston rhythm and lead guitar.

This album feels like a good blend of members, each featured here with several very good songs. Some reviewers say they are not a fan of McDonald, but I only hear him on lead vocals a few times here. I heard the band live a year ago and was very happy with the show. I feel that the chemistry works here and they have created a very listenable album. Still sound great after all these years.
