Ghost keeps getting better and better. Initially I was skeptical of the new album - been a ghost fan for years but after a few solid listens, this album is absolutely genius. I really feel Tobias’ heart and soul in this album. Cenotaph and Excelsis choke me up every time.
I Wish Ghost would go back to metal

This is my least favorite Ghost album, and it makes me really sad—especially after being disappointed by their last album, Impera, as well. There are a couple of good songs on this one, but the rest are all pretty bad in my opinion.
I really hope they go back to being a metal band in the future, instead of sounding like an ‘80s rock cover band. At least I can still enjoy their amazing earlier albums, but I’m still pretty bummed after two records of mediocre ’80s-style songs.

This is a great tribute to 80's rock, a great album that wll win awards, but its not the best Ghost album. Santanized and Marks of the Evil one are the only ones close to the Ghost sound. Lachryma and Umbra do Rock thou. I would say 8/10 songs are very good! Tobias is one one the best songwriters out there today!
Embrace it cause it’s different

Metal that makes me happy inside… very weird feeling. Anyone that says this isn’t a form of metal is just a gatekeeping incel weirdo. Embrace it cause it’s different from Ghost. We needed something upbeat in this cesspool of a time we’re living in.

Was introduced to rock by The Sonics and other Northwest garage bands, saw the Stones in '65 and The Beatles in '66, moved to San Francisco in time for the Summer of Love and all the music that went with it, then later developed a taste for Celtic rock. Ghost is by far and away the best band I've heard in almost twenty years.
Love the album

Big fan of the album. It’s definitely different than their previous albums, but I can understand and get behind musicians wanting to play different styles of music and not make every album sound exactly the same. I bet most of the negative reviews will say, doesn’t sound like their previous stuff.
Amazing!!!

It doesn’t matter if you get into the whole lore (although I recommend it for fun) they are an amazing band and this is a killer album!
They just keep getting bigger.

I get the controversy from the real oldhead fans, but Ghost has NEVER put out the same album twice, and they never regress to an old sound for a new release. The old stuff is still there, and they mix in every album for the live shows. This is a fantastic release, and the 80s vibes and synth are GORGEOUS. If you can’t see the thematic through line that is still very much Ghost, congratulations, you’re media illiterate.
