I've always liked Vega. Saw her perform at Carneigie Hall back when "Luka" was on the charts. She's put out excellent music ever since.
But...this album is special. Vega has combined all her musical gifts with strong vision, observation, and opinion. This is an album for our time right now.
Vega's skills favor subtlety. But, don't be fooled. She's saying important things here. Emphatically.

Once again, Vega offers up a fantastic collection of songs— poetic and poignant. She is certainly one of the beat lyricists around, and this is probably her best album since 9 Objects of Desire.

If you don’t know Suzanne Vega then you don’t know beautiful songwriting and breathtaking music. The new album is a masterpiece and welcomed return of one of the greatest singer songwriters of her generation.
