Great to see a return to country for Hardy. He is an extremely talented songwriter/musician, but I think he is best in sticking to his roots of country music. This album shows that. Favorite Country Song is the type of song that he excels at. The added humor of Buck On The Wall, while an ode to his granddad, just makes you smile. While he has muddled between country and rock for the last several years, I have been waiting for a breakout album from him.
His last few efforts, particularly the last one, were straight up rock. I think if this was more than just an EP, this might’ve been the breakout country album I have been waiting for. I will just wait and look forward to, hoping for a full country music album from him in the near future.
