After listening to this for a day I've got to say, this is good music. It bows to no genre, and the musicianship is as egoless as it is excellent. I can see how some jazz fans may be a little frustrated by the restraint of the tunes, but I don't feel that the intent was to push the improvisational envelope. The mood rules the music, and it has more of a mellow jam-band vibe than jazz club. A good, solid record. If you like the samples you should buy it!
