      Though ELEW is world renowned for his live performances, turning any room he enters into a honkey tonk, his studio work sets the precedent. His personal tastes are on display here more so than Rockjazz 1 and it's an excellent primer for anyone going into the field to see the genius madman with the hummingbird hands at work. This album is crisper than you might be used to if you see his live shows but it showcases his technical ability and the encyclopedic references (both to jazz and culture at large) that make him the best living piano player. ALBUM HIGHLIGHTS: M.I.A., Human Nature, People Are Strange, Zombie, Firebreather, Satisfaction, and if you want the straight jazz: Thanksgiving.
